2021 October National
October 1-28, 2021
There will be a First Friday reception for October National at the Madden Arts Center on October 1st. Masks will be required for everyone’s safety so no food or drink will be served at this opening. The show will be hung, judged and awards presented.
Thank you to our judge, Rod Buffington, for judging the show and choosing the winners. He will speak about his choices at 6:30 pm on October 1st. If you are not able to go to First Friday, we do hope you will visit the October National during the month to see the great work from all over the country. The Anne Lloyd Gallery has plenty of room for you to social distance with your mask. There were 47 pieces of work from across the country chosen to be exhibited.
Thank you to the Decatur Area Arts Council for allowing us to exhibit in the Anne Lloyd Gallery.
The October National is a celebration of originality and craftsmanship in any visual art medium. Artists from across the country are invited to share in this annual exhibition staged in the Anne Lloyd Gallery of the Madden Arts Center in Decatur, IL. For many years now the Come Together, Be Empowered organization (previously RACE for the Cure) has partnered with us to present an award for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Our 2021 judge is Rod Buffington, Director of Gallery programs and Assistant Professor of Art Education at Eastern Illinois University, retired.
Many thanks to Carol Kessler for chairing the October National.
