About Gallery 510 Art & Framing

a supportive art community where artists can find fellowship and encouragement

Gallery 510 was established in May 1991 by a group of artists from Central Illinois. This professional art group aims to raise awareness of visual fine arts by providing original, regional artwork, as well as exhibition space, and educational opportunities. We exist as a supportive art community where artists can find fellowship and encouragement. We offer a gift shop for original art, prints, cards, jewelry, unframed work and other items created by members & guests

“Art and love are the same thing: It’s the process of seeing yourself in things that are not you.”

OUR MISSION

Our Mission

– to nourish an interest in the visual fine arts as a public service

– to act as a source of cultural and educational enrichment

– to serve as a venue for professional and emerging artists

WHO WE ARE

Artists

Currently there are over 20 member artists.  Member artists pay dues annually and receive a solo show at Gallery 510, opportunities to exhibit at other venues about town that Gallery organizes, smaller commission paid on sales at the Gallery, discounts on purchases in the Gallery, discounts on framing supplies, fees waived for entering our shows, a voice at the Board of Directors meetings, and networking opportunities with the other artists.  We also offer Emerging Artist and Student Artist Membership Levels.

Teachers

Some of our member artists are also current or retired art teachers.  There are opportunities for these artists to teach workshops or private lessons to those inquiring.

Patrons of the Visual Fine Arts

These are our donors who financially support the Gallery and its programs.  These are our customers who purchase the artwork and framing.  Patrons are a valuable asset.

Volunteers

The community has an opportunity to help with the visual fine art programs we host.  Member artists volunteer at the Gallery to help reduce the cost of hired help. If you are interested in getting involved in the Decatur art community, give us a call!
