First Friday Gallery Walks and Artist Talks

FIRST FRIDAY, October 1, 2021, 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Masks Required
Due to the rise in COVID cases we will not serve food or drink at the reception that requires the removal of masks.

The month of October is the time to see a wide variety of new wooden containers by a master craftsman. Don Davis will bring his expertise to the gallery for a
solo show. You won’t want to miss his talk either on First Friday as he shares his knowledge of wood turning. He is displaying a variety of woods, techniques
and shapes. He will give his artist talk at 6:00 pm. This is different from our usual time schedule, switching talk times with the Anne Lloyd Gallery show and the October National.

First Friday gallery walks and talks celebrate the talents of our featured member artist each month. The reception is open to the public from 5:00 to 7:30 pm at Gallery 510 Art & Framing. The event is free to attend and light refreshments will be served. The artist of the month speaks starting at 6:30 pm. Artists speak on a range of subjects from inspiration to special techniques. Occasionally, an artist even chooses to hold a brief demonstration.

Gallery 510 will now recognize the talents of an area high school student. A piece of work by the Student Artist of the Month will be on display throughout that month along with the featured member artist.

In coordination with the other downtown galleries, The Blue Connection and the Anne Lloyd Gallery, our speaker schedules allow patrons to hear all the artists speak. At the Madden Arts Center the talk begins at 6:00 pm.

It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the art, the artist, and to mingle with your fellow art-lovers. We hope you join us!
