Artist Profile
Shirley Buescher
“I have been drawing as long as I can remember. I became more serious about learning how to be a better artist when I retired and the Community Council for the Arts in Pana was organized. My favorite media are watercolor and pencil, but I enjoy working in oil, acrylic and pastel. Favorite subject for art work is still life, flowers, and old buildings.
My education in the arts (other than appreciation of nature that God has created) has been classes through Lake Land Community College; workshops sponsored through U of I, Champaign, IL; workshops through art organizations, and art books.
My work has received ribbon and monetary awards from local art shows, and are privileged to be in private homes. My work is presently represented by Gallery 510, Decatur, IL. I am a member of Gallery 510 and the Decatur Area Arts Council.”
